What is the Daisy Accreditation?

The Daisy Accreditation is about demonstrating to the public that your organisation delivers care with dignity and respect. At the present time there is no mandatory requirement to be accredited around dignity, however in the interest of service users' quality and safety the Daisy Accreditation demonstrates to the public those organisations which are seeking to meet every user's needs.

Organisations who are successful under the Daisy Accreditation are awarded a plaque to display. This plaque acts as a quality marker to enable people to see which organisations are being proactive and taking action around Dignity and Respect.

Those organisations taking part in the Accreditation will have the opportunity to engage in training, evidence building, networking across focus groups and the Daisy Network, access to the Dignity in Care Team and engaging in dialogue on a continual basis with service users around Dignity. The Accreditation has been designed to blend into requirements set by the Care Quality Commission around Dignity, and also the Government's Dignity Standards.

The Daisy Accreditation can be delivered in modules to help with finances. The Training elements of the Daisy Accreditation are supported by the Tameside Training Consortium.

Bespoke to Meet Your Needs

One of the main focuses of the Daisy Accrediation is the delivery of training to staff. We can deliver training at your organisation as part of a bespoke package or you can send staff to one of our scheduled training days. Scheduled training days are for one full day and bespoke training can be delivered over one day or split into two half days.

Training is done in groups of 20, and there is a requirement that at least 80% of staff for an organisation attend the training.

For eligible organisations standard and bespoke training can be arranged through the Tameside Training Consortium. For organisations without access to the Training Consortium please contact the Dignity Team first on 01457 850 450.

 Be A Dignity Champion

We look to all staff taking part in the Daisy Accreditation to become Dignity Champions. The role of the Champion is vital in being an advocate for Dignity and the Daisy. Champions will challenge poor practice and stand up for those who need support the most.

Being a Champion is also a requirement of the Daisy Accreditation, to become a champion please fill in this form. Once completed please contact the Daisy Team to arrange for a Champion Badge to be sent.
