The involvement of patients and the public plays an important part in building and shaping health care services in Tameside and Glossop and in ensuring it meets the needs of the local people. Feedback from service users and the public will also allow us to improve on our current activities of public engagement and adopt new proactive style of involvements with patient and public.

What is Patient Experience (PE)
PE is the way in which patients, public, service users and carers can:
- Have their say on a service/treatment received
- Participate in shaping the way local health services are planned and run
- Help improve current local health services
NHS Tameside and Glossop believes improving patient experience can only happen by listening, understanding and acting upon the views, opinions and experiences, both positive and negative of the local community.
How can you get involved?
NHS Tameside and Glossop has several methods of public involvement and these include:
- World class commissioning consultation concentrating on Tameside and Glossop’s health priorities i.e. mental health, alcohol, cardio vascular disease, equalities and life expectancy.
- LINKS (Local Involvement Network Service)
- Feedback through our PCT website
- Informal and formal public engagement mechanisms e.g. health festivals, public participation committee.
