Main Clinic

The service has the main clinic at Ashton Primary Care Centre, 193 Old St, Ashton-Under-Lyne. OL6 7SR. Please see below for opening times.

You are welcome to attend the clinic for testing and treatments of all Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) including HIV, all methods of contraception including implants, coils and emergency contraception, pregnancy testing and all relevant sexual health advice.

If you have any symptoms or are worried about an STI or if you would like to speak to someone for general advice about your sexual health, please telephone us on the above number and ask to speak to a Health Adviser .

We offer a mixture of drop in times and appointment times at this clinic. If you prefer to drop in please note the drop in times below for people with symptoms. People without symptoms can attend at any time when the clinic is open.

Secondary Clinics

Our secondary clinics are smaller clinics and are open 1 or 2 sessions per week. Please see below for opening times and locations.

You are welcome to attend any of these clinics for contraception including implants, coils and emergency contraception, smears, pregnancy testing. We can also test and treat you for some sexually transmitted infections (STI) at these clinics as long as you don’t have any symptoms.

Young People

If you are under 25 you are welcome at any of our clinics listed below for free and confidential advice and support. You can also get pregnancy tests, condoms, RUClear chlamydia screening, advice and all methods of contraception including emergency contraception, referral to counselling specifically for young people.

No appointments needed just drop in.

SAFE (Sexual health Advice For Everyone) is a new  service for younger people in the Tameside and Glossop area, and a new dedicated site with more advice on sexual health and contraception will be available soon. You can also find out more on the SAFE Facebook page.

You can call 0161 342 7101 to make an appointment at a SAFE clinic or talk to a sexual health advisor. Lines are available:
Monday to Thursday 8.30am-8pm, Friday 8.30am-5pm, Saturday 11.30am-2.30pm.

Ashton Primary Care Centre, Orange Area

The opening times for Ashton Primary Care Centre have recently changed to the following:

If you are aged 18 or under and want contraception or STI testing, you may drop in at the following times:

Monday - Thursday 10.30am - 6.30pm, Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm, Saturday 11.15am - 2.30pm

If you are aged 19 - 24 and want contraception or STI testing, you may drop in at the following times:

Monday - Thursday 10.30am - 12.00pm and 4pm - 6.30pm*, Friday 9.30 am - 12.30pm Saturday 11.15am - 12.30pm.

Alternatively you can book an appointment for Monday - Thursday 12.30pm - 3.30pm, Friday 12.30pm - 4.30pm *limited testing Monday and Wednesday.

If you are over 25 years of age and require STI testing only you may drop in at the following times. Monday and Wednesday 10.30am - 12pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10.30am - 12pm and 4pm - 6pm, Friday 9.30am - 12.30pm. Alternatively you can book an appointment for Monday - Thursday 12.30pm - 3.30pm, Friday 12.30pm - 4.30pm

Women over 25 requiring contraception or smear test you may drop in on Wednesday 4pm - 6.30 pm or make an appointment on Thursday 12.30pm - 3.30pm. alternatively you can drop in at any of the clinic sessions in Hyde, Hattersley or Glossop
