Changes to health and care services in Tameside and Glossop

From 1st April 2013, Tameside and Glossop Primary Care Trust (PCT) also known NHS Tameside and Glossop, will cease to exist and its responsibilities will be devolved to a range of other new organisations: Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will take over the main responsibility for managing the local health budget in Tameside and Glossop. The CCG will be led by local GPs and other clinicians who will decide how to spend the local NHS budget for the benefit of local patients.

Community Healthcare Services

Click here to access a wide variety of Community Healthcare Services. These services cover the entire local population of Tameside & Glossop, from newborn babies to older people. The services are conveniently delivered closer to peoples’ homes, mainly at local NHS clinics. They range from Health Visiting, School Nursing, District Nursing to Diabetes, Dieticians, Sexual Health, Podiatry and Physiotherapy to name but a few.

Community Dental Service

This Service provides preventive and treatment services to those priority groups including children, adults, elderly persons and patients with special needs who require specialised treatment skills not available in General Dental Practices

Services are now provided by Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
